Our eyes can be so many colours
But not purple or yellow or orange.
I wonder why
The colours of eyes
Are brown, blue or green
But nothing in-between.
How could you choose
Those limited hues?
And stranger again,
No two are the same.
I wrote this poem at my writing group a little bit ago.
I don’t like it very much, but I’m working to let go of perfectionism and still let things I create exist, even if they don’t feel polished. Perhaps I’ll come back to it some other time, perhaps not. But it’s a real thing I did and I’m glad I spent time writing.
